Before diving into the next big project, it was time to check off some smaller tasks that we had been putting off.
Cleaning up our work areas in the bus and tent, getting everything organized and easy to find, plus clearing some space in the garage as once it starts snowing Don’s parents like to actually use their garage for their car.
Our bathroom is really coming together with our Nebia Showerhead. Something that I noticed when we took our first shower, was that our Nebia shower curtain (being a standard size) was just a little bit long for our tiny shower. So I adjusted the length of the inner lining and outer curtain to sit just above the floor.
I decided to add a sealant over our walls and ceiling in the bathroom to help protect the wood from moisture. We used Safecoat Polyureseal EXT, a non-toxic water resistant sealant. Safecoat recommended this for sealing the wood for our compost toilet. I asked if this could be used over paint too, while it was not created for that purpose they advised me to test it first but that they had successfully used it over paint. I did a test, it worked, so we sealed up the whole bathroom.
We had still been searching for the perfect stain for our Kitchen Countertops. We finally found one that we both love, matches our dark trim work, the rustic look of the ceiling, compliments our modern sleek white cabinets and helps warm up the room with our cool colored flooring. We decided to use Rubio Monocoat’s Walnut color. This is an eco-friendly option with no VOC's, linseed oil based, durable and only requires one coat to finish it. See links below for the other colors we tested and our first variety of colors we stain tested here.
We are burnt out. We head out to a peaceful Lake House for a vacation.

Safecoat Polyureseal EXT
They describe this sealant for exterior use on walkways, pool decks, floors, patios and showrooms. However, after talking with the company tech team they recommended this for our compost toilet box and lid as it can be used on raw or stained wood, is durable and water resistant making it good for use in a bathroom. It is not designed to go on painted wood, but can work on some paint. They recommend testing first over your paint.
